Glad you asked! Allow me to rant.

A different monster for different builds and situations. The general rule is any enemy I can assign a personality onto. Usually these personalities are that of overconfidence in the abuse of certain skills, or in the abuse of overwhelming numbers.

When with henchmen: Imps and Hydras.
-Imps will spam every area of affect spell known to man, and will make sure every single one of them slows you to a crawl. Even if you have no intention of moving, it's the thought that counts. The imps WANT you to kill them so BADLY that all their skills involve you hanging around. Of course, the henchmen enjoy bundling up for group hugs.
-Hydras use what I would call a "coffin build," a build that basically is your own coffin. Using it means you will most likely die. A hydra is like an angry retard with a hammer. It will race at you top speed with eyes crossed, drool swinging out of its mouth because it thinks it's the most powerful creature to ever live. Rather than staying in the back lines like a good little caster, a Hydra intends to ride on your back ejaculating fire spells into your ear while you carve out its genitals. It doesn't care. It desperately wants a kill, any kill. Once more, the henchmen's group hug shall not be disbarred, even if it means 7 deaths at once.

Using a Necro Minion Master: Nightmares and Scale Blighters
-Nightmares are totally worthless to a minion master. They can't fight worth crap, so they aren't a challenge to you specifically. All they do is throw up some enchantments and cling to your leg and hope you won't heal yourself. Your minions will happily obligue, taking dozens of points of damage with every attack. You can't heal your minions that fast, especially if they're spread out after the initial attack. The Nightmares will quickly rape your army from 20 minions down to probably 5, possibly none left. They, of course, leave no corpses, only trails of urine and soiled shadow pants.
-Scale Blighters are annoying for one reason only: Putrid Explosion. If they see a dead body, they WILL use this skill. If you're flying a plane overhead, throwing doo doo down onto them from above, or if you're underground, or if they can SEE you, they will pound on whatever their equivilent of the number 8 key is. They have no intention at all of using this skill WELL, they just want to USE it. Filled with an overwhelming sense of satisfaction from using their own useful skill, a Blighter will cheerfully spit globs of high-pitched whining into your face until you obligue his request at being sent screaming into hell, where he may spam the number 8 key for all time... on himself.

Farming: Scarabs/Devourers
-Unique on this list as the only enemies that aren't annoying for any real reason, Scarabs and Devourers are annoying to me since they interfere in my affairs, and can't seem to mind their own business, refusing to leave well enough alone and just staying underground where they belong. My Riposte farming build is designed for Warriors... Drakes, not over-eager Ranger wannabes, and retarded Necros that use absolutely nothing but the equivilent of a wet willie, in large quantities.

Running: Imps and Siege Golems, Grasping Ghoul
-Imps and Siege Golems are more famous for the Droknar run. Rather than actually being good fighters, they exist for one reason: me. In a real fight, they end up with knives in their rectums, which are pumped furiously in and out until they die from internal bleeding and a broken ego. Siege Golems aren't even worth insulting. Imps have the tendency to magically stray near your aggro circle when you wander nearby, stretching the limits of their own waypoint system. They know good and well where you are - they just want an excuse to attack. The most satisfying thing I have ever experienced in GW is using a Mo/W runner to get to the Grotto, listening to the harmony of dozens of Imps' slow spells click off, and the imagined weeping and suicide weapons' expulsion thereafter.
-Grasping Ghouls I shouldn't have to explain. All they do is cripple you. That's ALL they do. They run into your group, arms flailing about wildly, slapping everyone they see, just trying to make sure they spam their ONLY skill on absolutely everything they're allowed to.

Award winners: Tengu/Avicara, Stone and Skeleton air Elementalists
-Tengu, or Avicara... I hate them. Over the months, these retarded beasts, which lack the ability to even look straight ahead, feel the need to attack anything and everything, in huge packs, without regard for their own lives. In addition to using a myriad of high-powered attacks on one target at a time, especially Avicara Fierce, these pests are also usually faster than you are, meaning that they can chase you for miles, as long as they feel like it, and you have no say in the matter. The most annoying aspect of these birds is the noise they make, and the personality they've developed with me. When a bird-man attacks, he wants to make sure you know it, so he will squawk as loudly as he can (which is nothing but unintelligible jibberish by the way) right in your ear, as often as he can, as witlessly as he can. And after a group of about 16 level 24 Avicaras kill off a small group of 8 level 20 humans, they celebrate this great, GREAT victory with a resounding hour of squawking with their eyes crossed, running into trees, and humping one another to relieve the arousal they developed in combat. Boy, those bird guys sure are awesome, huh?
-Stone and Skeleton Air Elementalists annoy me for one reason only: their desire to TOUCH you. This is all they know, and they will celebrate its existence by spamming it as often as they can. Usually with Stones, this involves pushing you down, then pushing you down again as soon as you get back up. If there's a group of pushers, they will each take turns pushing so one won't get too exhausted from all the touching and pushing going on. A skeleton air elementalist isn't as bad, but what it lacks in pushing-down expertise, it makes up for in persistence. A skeleton air elementalist may only push you down once, but it will make sure that you ARE pushed down - if not by him, by someone else. If you run past him, he will chase you for the rest of time, his finger eternally outstretched, racing after you, whimpering because you aren't letting him use his favorite skill EVER. If you stop for a moment and allow him to touch you, he will be satisfied, or have the piss scared out of him, depending on how much time you feel like wasting, and will hurriedly race back to his huge mob of Skeleton Rangers, eager to recharge his decaying fingernails for another adventure.

In general, I hate anything that seems to exist only to be annoying, that exist only to waste my time, or that exist only to deny me an income. You will notice that I do not list Mursaat bosses or Glint (although she almost makes the list do to her abuse of one or two skills) because while hard, they require thought.

I will give honorable mention to Mursaat bosses for their ability to immediately piss themselves and run crying into the arms of huge, HUGE mobs or ether seals when you use absolutely anything with an area of affect on them. They seem to enjoy sticking their arms out of the cracks of wards and Jades and casting powerful spells on you while they naturally heal (which is cheating last I checked) back any damage you did to them in the 15 seconds they had the balls to fight you head on.

Anything that pops out of the ground especially rockshot/nightmares. It just seems like they were put there as a lazy method to adjust difficulty. If people are making too much money/ having fun, they just add more poppers to the mix . I dont blame them, i would do the same thing if it was my job,but im a lazy s.o.b so i would have expected a more creative solution.

There are warrior skills that can't be evaded. I only bother bringing them when solo'ing though.

Just remembered another, large groups of spiders.....they poison your whole team then all seem to mob on your monk. And the best part is as soon as you purge conditions, you get poisened again before you can take one step. :/


The Afore-mentioned IMPs are likewise....I Just want to RUN AWAY why wont you let me!?

i definitely agree with all those monsters being extremely annoying...but the most annoying boss for me would have to be the last monk boss on thirsty river, kinda sucks when some of your party members quit on you

I gotta admit I have the Wind Riders in the desert (cry of frustration really is given meaning there), and I also hate those damn chicken men in the shiverpeaks. Everytime I go south of Camp Rankor, I kill the first boss and group of nightmare enemies, then I get to Big Bird and his posse of homies and get shanked like a child molester in a hardened penetentiary....

For the time in the game when they come, the jungle spiders. You aren't yet quite strong enough to stand all the poisoning, and there is no way you can clear the conditions fast enough when getting poison bombed by 4 of them.

Yeah, the Spiders in the jungle region. These guys are just as scary as their real life counterparts. But having 8 legs and 8 eyes, and being overgrown isn't scary enough, so they come at you in groups and they often appear from out of nowhere - like a surprise party. To make sure people don't shrug and ignore them when they do turn up, they don't shout "SURPRISE!", they use poison. Not because it's a good degen and most of us don't have ways to deal with conditions, it's because it turns your health bar green. The green poisoned icon on the top left isn't enough, so your personal health bar and the one in the party window goes green so you cannot fail not to notice. They want your attention, 100% of it, and they do get your attention. Panic sets in as your party member's health bar goes green - one by one. The creepy noise they make is them laughing at you while they're shooting you from a safe distance.

All monk bosses and the dam imps. they are always there waiting for me to come along and then they ether freeze me of put me on fire.

Also ANET tends to make mosters chase you forever.
Although they claim in the bugfix resleases that this problem is fixed, namely those mofos wont chase you untill you know every sqaure inch of the map by heart. Big big lie.

sometimes i go with guildies in FoW to farm some spiders. Usually i take my ranger (i only have an ele and a ranger char), the guildie(s) take a well known warr build.

Some time ago it was quite fun farming those spiders, after warriors made the aggro you could use barrage to help them finish the job. But now those cool spiders seem to have a gps bug put on your ass and follow you even if you can't see them anymore on the radar...

I think ANET is perfecting the next generation of extremly annoying monsters. I'm curios how monsters in factions will act.
I feel we'll have a realy intimate realationship with all kinds of new monsters in less than a month.

Yeh...I agree. Seems everybody forgot about them. Being a caster, traveling with henchies they do poison-bomb me and Alesia doesn't heal...she ressurects! And they seem to drop from thin air just when youre trying to avoid some huge wind rider aggro

But scarabs...I positively can't stand them! Burrowing bastards...
